Freshman make me laugh

This year, my high schoolers are doing "Shrek" for their spring musical. They're really excited about it. This year, Mr. R and I talked to the students a little more about how theatre auditions work outside of school and tried to run ours accordingly. We taught them how to slate, where to look, what the judges are looking for, and most importantly (I think) to never apologize for your performance. We had them fill out formal auditions sheets that included the basics: name, age, height, grade, experience, etc.

As I was looking through their audition sheets during the casting process, I noticed that two of my freshman wrote the following:

grade: _A_

....what? What grade is A? .....oh my.

They wrote down what grade they had in the class instead of what grade they are in. 😂
Definitely added a nice laugh to one of the hardest casting sessions I've ever had.
